I grew up in Canton and graduated CHS in 2009. I graduated from UT Tyler in 2012 and taught 2nd grade at Wills Point ISD for 2 years. This is my 3rd year at Canton ISD. I've taught 5th grade Special Education, 4th grade Math, and currently 5th grade Math, Social Studies, and ELA.
I started taking gymnastics classes at 4 years old. I cheered for Canton from 7th grade to my senior year. I was nominated and made NCA All-American Cheerleader all 6 years. My 7th grade year, I made the very first competitive cheer team at East Texas Twisters in Canton. I broke my arm and couldn't tumble for a while, so couldn't actually compete until the following year. I cheered for Twisters from 8th grade until I graduated high school. I began coaching the 2 youngest teams my freshman year of high school, the Lil' Spinners and the Whirlwinds. All the experiences of coaching and teaching cheerleading in high school are some of my greatest memories. It may sound cliche, but I am so blessed to be back in my hometown, living my dream of teaching 5th grade and coaching Varsity Cheerleaders!
I married my high school sweetheart, JJ Heddin, who is a Registered Nurse at ETMC in Tyler. We have two daughters, Zoey and Zaylee, and a yorkie, Lola. We are members of Crossroads Church in Canton and love our church family!
