Pre AP Geometry (Period 2 & 3)

This course provides an introduction to the structure of geometry, basic geometric figures and concepts, and to formal proof, properties of angles, perpendicular and parallel lines and planes, congruent triangles and their applications, similar polygons, right triangles, circles, areas and volume, constructions, coordinate geometry, plane transformations and mappings.

There is a greater emphasis on proof of theorems and the use of transformations in a plane than regular Geometry. In general, the extent of the course is greater and the level of mathematical rigor is greater for the Pre AP class.
