okay you'll notice on the first one it's two chords crossed inside so if you'll remember the formula to the two parts of this cord multiplied call the two parts of this cord multiplied so if I multiply these two first and I get 6 x equals and then I multiply 8 times play I'm going to get 24 divided by 6X equals 4 so you can plug it back in and you know that that side is for then on this one you noticed that it is two secant so remember it's the outside times the whole thing equals the outside times the whole thing so if you go head and do the whole thing 7 + 6 is going to be 13 and on this side the whole thing 5 + x will be 5 plus 75 * 5 + x + 7 * 13 * 13 the whole thing equal the outside of the bottom five times the whole thing is 5 + x now just do your algebra 7 * 13 is 91 get your 5B 25 + 5x subtract the 25 from the 91 and you get 66 equals 5x divided by 5 and you get NEX equals 13.2 then that's your answer for this next one too replens change something that we need to switch the nine in the 5x so make this one nine and make this one 5x in a workout better okay so in order to do this when remember this is a tangent and this is the secant so we're going to square this because there's only one part but we're still going to do the outside times the whole thing here so if we label the outside it will be 5 x + 9 so set up your problem you are going to do 13 Square change it side of squared cuz there's only one part equals the outside of the bottom is 9 and the whole thing is 5x + 9 distributive property the nine times 5x in the 9 x 9 so 13 squared is 169 9 x 5 is 45 x + 9 x 9 is 81 now subtract the 81 over there can you get 88 equal 45x divide 88 divided by 45 and you get x equals 1.96 and that's your ex let's look at this next one and you feel noticed we have to see cans we have a cord here we could also use the cord right here in the cord right here but we have to find and why so there's a couple of different ways you can do this one I'm going to but side it's just 16 squared and then on the other side you take the outside times the entire thing now what is the entire thing going to be here we have to add all this together so 14 + and then x + 2 collect your like terms and you have X 16 for the whole thing so we are going to multiply the 14 x the x + 16 so it's going to equal 14 times next plus 16 then you're going to have to distribute that 16 squared is 256  Canon 14x 14 * 16 is 224 subtract the 224 over here and you get 32 14x divide both sides by the 14 and you're going to get 2.3 for your ex so remember you have three situations you have a tangent in a secant to this squared equals the outside Tums the whole thing you have two cords and you multiply these two parts equal to these two parts Canon the last situation that we had was
