About Mrs. Fowler
Hello! My name is Brittani Fowler, formerly Ms. Engebretson, and I teach Advanced English I, Advanced English II, AP English III, AP English IV and Debate/Independent Studies in Speech. This will be my eighteenth year in education, all spent at Canton High School. I have lived in Canton my entire life, and graduated from Canton High School in 2002. I then moved to Nacogdoches, TX, where I attended Stephen F. Austin State University and earned a Bachelor's of Arts in English. I hold a Master's degree of Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction for English/Language Arts.
Besides teaching, I also coach the UIL Spelling & Vocabulary team and Copy Editing team. My Spelling team has advanced to state thirteen years, won the State Champion title for 4-A for 2013 and 2023, earned silver medals for 2015 and 2016, and is looking forward to another successful year! When I am not at school, I joyfully serve on the Worship Ministry Team and facilitate the Young Couples connect group alongside my husband at Victory Church in Canton.
I have been married for seven years to my husband, Blake Fowler! I have one sister, one brother, and two loving parents, a sister-in law, a brother-in-law, one niece, and three nephews and a baby boy of my own named Bretson James Fowler, who is four years old!
I love my job as an English teacher, but always insist that even more than teaching, I love learning! Therefore, I have very high expectations and feel that every day that your child is in my classroom, he/she should be gaining not only knowledge, but also a love of learning!
