I am proud of the way that you competed in Corsicana on Saturday.  Most of you represented Canton very well.  We were able to overcome some tough play and we gave everyone a battle.

We played lots of tennis and showed improvement.  Congratulations to each of you that placed.

Madi and Kassidy placed 2nd in doubles.  Juliana placed 2nd in singles (lost in a tie break in the championship game).  Brazos placed 3rd in singles.  Brett Blevins made it to the finals on his side and Brett and Travis made it to the 3rd place match up.  Emory and Brooke played well only loosing to the team that won the tournament.  Taylor and Sammy showed grit and improvement.  Juan and Cheyenne worked together.

Lets get ready for district.  Start now seeing yourself as you want to perform.

I am thrilled to be able to carry you to Corsicana on Saturday.  We will leave at 6:45.  Bring a winning attitude, the racket, the sun screen, your lunch, and tennis gear.

Directions:  off of Hwy 31 (across from the Collins Street Bakery) turn right on 13th street (the one before HEB) go several blocks down and pass the Brookshire's building and then take a left on the next stop (Oak lawn)  follow the road around the courts will be on the right.  ( Site: Mertz Tennis Center )

Times: Coaches Meeting at 8:15 a.m. with play to begin at 8:30 a.m.

Awards: Trophies will be awarded to 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and consolation winners in each division

Today we competed!  I appreciate all of you and your efforts.

On the girls side: 

Madi Allen and Kassidy Wilkerson won 1st in the varsity doubles B draw. 

Jualiana Bratcher won 3rd in the varisty singles A draw. 

Emory Elliott and Brooke Erickson won 3rd in the varsity doubles A draw.  

Taylor Tidwell played hard going 1 and 1.

On the boys side:

Brett Mackelfresh and Travis Riffle won 2nd in the varisty doubles B draw.

Brett Blevins won 2nd in the varisty singles B draw.

Brazos Hesskew won 3rd in the varsity singles A draw.

In the mixed doubles b draw Cheyenne Mason and Juan Ruiz lost in the 3rd place match.

I hope you are excited.  We leave 7:30 on Friday to go Edgewood.  The boys should be coming back to play at Canton, the girls should be going to Wills Point, and the mixed doubles are staying in Edgewood.  They are going to try to take the semi finals and finals back to Edgewood.

If anything changes they will tell us at the players meeting in Edgewood.
